1. How much will ECO charge to evaluate our company?
There is no charge for the initial assessment conducted by ECO. Our team will come to your facility, free of charge, and perform an initial evaluation of your facility to identify opportunities to lower energy costs. We then place your unique parameters into our modeling software to obtain an initial estimate of potential energy cost savings. This will give you the ability to determine if an energy cost savings project will meet your internal goals and payback expectations. Our next step is to provide a detailed savings implementation plan, complete with schedules, budgets and types of measures to be installed. The overall cost depends on your facility needs and is supported by the data previously collected during our free walkthrough.
2. How much does a new energy saving system cost?
Our engineering staff prides itself on our systematic approach to addressing your electrical needs and savings targets. We design our systems within your financial and saving goals in mind. A typical project may provide a payback in 12 to 36 months with ROIs of 30 to 50%
3. What technologies does ECO use to lower energy costs?
ECO has access to a suite of over 15 technologies, products and technologies specifically designed to achieve energy efficiency goals. To accomplish this, ECO works directly with EASI, a manufacturer of technologies that improve electrical efficiencies for equipment, motors, air-conditioning, refrigeration and lighting. After our engineering and design phase we will know which technologies will be optimal for your facility.
4. What types of industries has EASI installed energy savings products?
EASI solutions have been used in all types of businesses: automotive, hotel, large industrial, small Industrial, government, public works, warehouse storage, distribution and commercial buildings. The wonderful part is that electricity behaves the same regardless of industry. Our goal is to understand your unique environment and operating conditions so we can design an approach that works best for your business.
5. We already have Power Factor Correction. Can we still experience energy costs savings?
Absolutely, we address power quality and electrical distribution losses within your facility. Normally, power factor correction is conducted at your main distribution panel, which doesn’t improve your electrical efficiency or address power quality issues related to each load. We address equipment, motors, air-conditioning, refrigeration, and lighting losses, and therefore can to save your business money regardless of power factor correction at the main panel.
6. How is ECO’s offer different from other energy cost saving companies?
We not only conduct the necessary study(s) to determine the best approach to electrical savings, but also can provide a custom technology solution to achieve optimal savings results. Our EASI technology is backed by a third party insurer (currently Lloyds of London) to make sure you will obtain your payback period. Typically, our competition manufactures one or two different technologies that they must fit to your application. We are not locked into a particular technology. If your facility demands a special design, then we will have it made.
ECO takes a comprehensive approach to your electrical distribution system and apply technologies that maximize your savings, while minimizing your expense. Other companies just do not have the breadth of technologies to offer this option. We are able to implement both active and passive measures that will result in significant energy savings.
Active: Measures that are installed that can be programmed and maintained by users.
Passive: Measures that are installed and perform continuously without programming or ongoing maintenance.
7. What is the effect of these technologies on equipment downtime and equipment operation?
Because most of our technologies are installed parallel to the device (motors, refrigeration, AC, lightings), any outage will not affect your equipment operation. For the technologies that are installed in series we have bypass switches to allow our customers to bypass our technology, if needed. Our technologies will not harm your existing equipment. Rather, they enhance the operation, extend the life and minimize the maintenance cost. There are many benefits to installing our technology. Improved performance of your facility is one of them.
8. How does ECO prove that its systems are saving money?
Measurement and verification are a very important part of our process We work closely with our customers to establish a measurement and verification protocol for your unique facility. Our methodology is drawn from and complies with the International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP). The IPMVP was established by a network of energy professionals and national organizations from over 25 countries for the purpose of standardizing the methods by which energy conservation projects are measured and verified. We do not move forward with an installation project unless there is a clear understanding and agreement to our method for measurement and verification.
9. What are the lifecycle or maintenance costs for EASI systems?
None. Our EASI systems are passive in nature and require no additional training or maintenance to operate.
10. We have a co-generation system on site. Can you still lower our energy costs?
Yes. Our strategies improve the efficiency of your distribution system and thus would allow you to use less electricity from the power company— And allow you to have a more predictable energy savings rate even though there may be fluctuations in the co-generation process.
11. We have solar panels (PVC) installed at our facility, is it still possible to save on electrical use?
Yes. Energy Efficiency measures can help boasts overall savings even if you already have solar panels installed.
